Silk is acknowledged for its beauty, and as a symbol of luxury, its natural fibres having qualities that allow it to feel warm when it’s cold and cool when it’s hot. Silk is also known for its hypo-allergenic properties, thus allowing both a luxurious and peaceful night’s sleep.
All of Issan Inspirations bedspreads are individually created using 18 yards of finest hand-woven 100% Thai silk. The upper side is crafted out of the rich 4-ply silk that is hand-reeled as well as hand-woven. Because of this, it has a textured, flecked look giving the spectacular lustre for which Thai silk is admired, all around the world.
The underside is 100% hand-woven 2-ply Thai silk – giving a smoother, softer feel. Because our silk is hand-woven, it is as unique as the person owning it, each yard individually crafted using skills that have been passed down from generation to generation, with a good weaver managing to produce up to 4 yards per day.
You may wish to call our product a bedcover, a bedspread, a doona, a counterpane, a comforter or even BedArt TM, but whatever you decide upon, we hope you will call it beautiful!
